 1. The Summer Palace (颐和园)

Introduction: The Summer Palace, adjacent to Yuanmingyuan (The Old Summer Palace), was the imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty in China. It covers an area of about 2.9 square kilometers. It is a large landscape garden based on Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, modeled after the West Lake in Hangzhou and based on the design techniques of Southern gardens. It is the largest existing imperial garden in China. In the 10th year of Xianfeng (1860), the Garden was burned down by British and French allied forces. During reconstruction at 1888, it was renamed the Summer Palace, for summer recreation. In 1900, the Summer Palace was destroyed by the Eight-Power Allied Forces, the treasures were looted. In November 1998, the Summer Palace was added to The World Heritage List.

  2. The Great Wall (长城)

Introduction: The Great Wall is the largest military project in ancient China. It refers to tall, strong and continuous walls, designed to block the movement of an enemy rider. The Great Wall is not an isolated wall, but a defensive system with walls as the main body, combined with a large number of cities, barriers, pavilions, etc. After Qin Shihuang unified the whole country, the Great Wall was connected and repaired, and began to be called the Great Wall. The Ming Dynasty was the last dynasty in which the Great Wall was built a lot, and most of the Great Wall seen today was built during that time. The Great Wall is mainly distributed in 15 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities such as Hebei, Beijing and Shaanxi.

According to Surveying and Mapping of National Departments, the Ming Dynasty Great Wall has a total length of over 8,800 kilometers, while the total length is more than 21,000 kilometers. There are more than 43,000 pieces of the Great Wall relics. In December 1987, the the Great Wall was added to The World Heritage List.

 3. The Imperial Palace(The Forbidden City) (北京故宫)

Introduction: The Imperial Palace in Beijing is located at the center of the central axis of Beijing. With three main halls as the center, the Palace covers an area of 720,000 square meters, with a construction area of about 150,000 square meters. There are more than 70 palaces of different sizes and more than 9,000 houses. The construction of the Imperial Palace in Beijing began in the fourth year of Yongle during the Ming Dynasty (1406). Modeled after the Imperial Palace in Nanjing, it was completed in 1420 and became the imperial palace for the 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On October 10, 1925, the Palace Museum was officially opened.

The Forbidden City in Beijing is 961 meters long from north to south and 753 meters wide from east to west. It is surrounded by a 10-meter high wall and a 52-meter wide moat outside the city. The Imperial Palace in Beijing is one of the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. It was listed as a World Heritage site in 1987.
