Title: Automorphism groups of generic supersingular polarized abelian varieties

Abstract: Let A_g be the moduli space over F_p of g-dimensional principally polarized abelian varieties and S_g be the supersingular locus of A_g.

Oort’s conjecture asserts that when g ≥ 2, every geometric generic member in S_g has automorphism group {±1}. Oort’s conjecture has been proved in lower or even dimensions by Ibukiyama, Karemaker, Pries, Yobuko, Yu, and in full generality by Viehmann very recently, unless for g=2, 3 and p=2. In this talk we shall present a different proof of Oort’s conjecture in odd characteristic.
