Title: On Sylvester's conjecture

Abstract: One old question in number theory is to determine whether an integer can be written as the sum of two nonzero rational cubes. Sylvester's conjecture predicts that for every prime p congruent to 4, 7, 8 mod 9, the answer is positive. In this talk, I will explain my recent attempt to attack the 4, 7 cases.
