Abstract: Volume polynomials form a special family of Lorentzian polynomials. In this talk, I will discuss how volume polynomials can be used to deduce many fundamental inequalities, including the Alexandrov–Fenchel inequalities, the Loomis–Whitney inequalities, the Khovanskii–Teissier inequalities, and the reverse Khovanskii–Teissier inequalities. This is joint work with June Huh, Mateusz Michałek, and Jian Xiao.
