Title: Global bounds for the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in one space dimension (I)

Abstract: We will introduce the testing by wave packets method proposed by Ifrim and Tataru. Combining the wave packets and vector field methods, they showed that global solutions exist for the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with small initial data in H0,1(R). The related problems of obtaining a modified scattering expansion for the solution, as well as asymptotic completeness will also be discussed.
