Title: Modularity of arithmetical  theta functions and Colmez conjecture

Place and Time: Morningside Center  610,  June 28 (Tuesday) 4:00pm-5:00pm

Abstract: This is a joint work with Bruinier, Howard, Kudla, and Rapoport in progress.

In the talk, I will briefly describe a generating function of arithmatic divisors on  Shimura  variety of unitary type (n-1, 1)---arithmatic theta function, and explain why it is a modular form (if time permits).

I will also briefly explain how to use the modularrity to prove some cases of the Colmez conjecture (CM type of unitary type (n-1, 1)). I might emphasize one over the other.
