TITLE: Multiple Dirichlet Series, An Historical Survey

ABSTRACT: Multiple Dirichlet series are Dirichlet series in several complex variables which have meromorphic continuation (except for finitely many polar divisors) and satisfy a finite group of functional equations. We review the history of these objects with a focus on quadratic twists and elliptic curve applications.

TITLE: Multiple Dirichlet Series and Moments of Quadratic Dirichlet L-functions

ABSTRACT: In this talk I will focus on multiple Dirichlet series arising from quadratic L-functions. The key steps in the proof of the error term for the moments will be explained. This is joint work with Diaconu and Hoffstein from 2003.
