2020 Winter School on Geometry and Arithmetic of Shimura Varieties
March 2-6, 2020
Shimura varieties have rich geometric structures and deep applications to number theory, and hence are central objects in contemporary mathematics. In view of their historical importance and many recent breakthroughs, a winter school titled "The geometry and arithmetic of Shimura varieties" at the Morningside Center of Mathematics in Beijing seems ripe.
Active experts on different aspects of the theory of Shimura varieties have been invited to give accessible lecture series, and these lectures will help to introduce many young people to this exciting theory at the crossroads of the mainstream of mathematics.
